About the event
June 19th, 1935 was a historic day for the Augusta Historic Theatre! It was the opening day of our beautiful, art deco theatre. This year we are celebrating with a free showing of "Black Sheep", the very first film that was shown here. An American Crime/Drama directed by Allan Dwan, starring Edmund Lowe, Claire Trevor and Tom Brown. On a cruise ship a professional gambler comes to the aid of a young man victimized by a jewel thief. The young man turns out to be his son.
